The sun was shining and the tunes were thumping at The Glebe this past Saturday for our donate-to-play Touch Rugby Fundraiser. We had a spectacular turnout with over 60 participants, 7 mixed-gender teams and ages ranging from 12 to some of our more senior seniors. Touch rugby is extremely inclusive, providing the opportunity for a more light-hearted yet fast-paced level of play, so it was smiles all round from start to finish.

Teams 4 & 5 finished as joint winners of the day, with £150 raised for SAMH and over £380 for club funds. A HUGE thank you to all who donated and took part in the event, whether that was by playing or cheering on your favourite team.

Carrick RFC is grateful to be able to deliver social gatherings such as these thanks to the financial support received from VASA. It was a pleasure to see players and spectators of all ages and backgrounds showing up for their community and raising funds for such important causes.

Join us on Friday evenings throughout July at the Carrick Community Astro, 6.00-7.30 PM for more Touch Rugby and Chatty Space mingling. All ages and abilities welcome.
